Cal Performances is a performing arts program based in UC Berkeley.

History

Cal’s performing arts program first began in 1906, and since then has blossomed into one of the largest university-run performing arts presenters in the United States. Cal has housed performances by amazing artists ranging from MIkail Baryshnikov to Yo-Yo Ma , and even companies such as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in one of the five performing arts venues. These venues include Zellerbach Hall, Zellerbach Playhouse, Hertz Hall and Wheeler Hall, all of which are located on the UC Berkeley campus. Cal Performances offers an average 100 performances annually and caters to over 300,000 patrons through these programs.
