Information

Caltopia is a free two-day event that started in 2002 at University of California, Berkeley. Cal Recreational Sports created and hosted this event which attracted over 30,000 Cal students and campus supporters in addition to promoting the latest products, services, and programs from over 100 local and national sponsors and exhibitors. Taking place in the Recreational Sports Facility (RSF), students and companies gather as a community. According to the organizers, it is the largest college lifestyle festival in the United States. Some popular attractions of this event are complimentary make-up, massages, and manicures. Many students attend the event to get free prizes and sample free food as well. Caltopia derives its name from ‘Cal’ as in California, and ‘topia’ meaning a place or a location.
