Description

Psychology as a scientific discipline aims to describe, understand, and predict the behavior of living organisms. The Psychology Department at UC Berkeley focuses on five areas of research: Behavioral Neuroscience; Change, Plasticity and Development; Clinical Science Cognition, Brain, and Behavior; and Social-Personality Psychology. Although these are the main fields of study, there are many courses that are offered for students that are not directly related to these five areas of research. The psychology department not only offers undergraduate degrees, but also degrees through their graduate program and exchange program. The student services and academic advising within the psychology department can offer any guidance to those interested in the field of psychology, with advising in both the graduate and undergraduate offices. The hours for these advising offices can be found at http://psychology.berkeley.edu/students/services.
