The James K. Moffitt Undergraduate Library was opened in 1970 for current UC Berkeley students. No visitors are allowed to the library. It lies on top of an underground library, called the Gardner Main Stacks, which connects Moffit Library to Doe Library. The lower level contains Free Speech Movement Café, made to commemorate the protests around the Free Speech Movement held at campus around the 1960s.
